I have got ideas. Ideas that need to be written down and examined and done. Here I will document ideas and accomplishments (and failures). I can’t wait!
First off, let me share what I have been working on within the last week. On one of my favorite blogs, The Idea Room, I found these adorable crepe paper balls. We love roses around this place so I thought it was a great way to start it off. In the pictures that were posted, off to the side was another ADORABLE ball. This one was felt and I fell in love. Off to JoAnn’s I went (with 2 kids who were bribed with McD’s for lunch) on Friday. (There was no school on Friday and Scott was off camping at the Klondike Derby.)
I found the felt right off at $4.99 per yard (1 yard was MORE than enough), then I went on to get all kinds of things like pins, an adorable heart shaped wreath for the kitchen and some really cool rolls of tulle for a dollar each ( I got 6). We also ran to WalMart for some craft projects for them - cool. After that we ran McD’s, along with everyone else on the planet. The kids were great and had loads of fun.
Once we got home, we cleared the table and started working. I decided to start with the crepe paper roses. What a joke. I have no idea how they did theirs and made them look good, but mine just didn’t. I tried and tried different twists and turns to make them look better, but to no avail. Oh well, I finished one in white.
Then I started on the felt. 3" rounds - check. Lots of pins - check. More rounds - check. REPEAT! Lots and lots of rounds were cut out and pinned onto the little Styrofoam ball. Finished finally. This turned out FAB! LOVE IT!
